Traveling
Today, one year ago, I was sitting on a plane on my way to Thailand. This was my second time I had the change to visit a special piece of earth. In 2011 I visited Thailand for the first time, and I immediately fell in love with the nature, culture, weather, people and everything else. So I was extremely exited to go there again.
Do you ever have the feeling, you have a connection with a country somewhere else. Well mine is with Thailand. This may sound weird, because I only went there twice, but when I was there I felt so good and happy. It is just such a difference with what we are used to. The people are so nice and kind, you feel home right away.
I love traveling, seeing new cultures and discover new beautiful places. Meeting new people, new food and hearing other languages make me so happy. I'm lucky that i have the change to go and visit so much places.
On Facebook I saw something called; My travel map. Where you could fill in the names of the countries you have visited or lived. I wrote all mine down and this is my list:
Netherlands
Belgium
France
Germany
Greece
Italy
Spain
Denmark
Luxembourg
Malta
Norway
Portugal
Russia, Moscow
Sweden
Vatican City
Thailand
Turkey
I have to say, I have been in different cities in the same country, but it was easier to write only the countries down. 16 countries is a normal amount, not to much, but definitely more than some people. But I saw on mytravelmap, that I only have visited 2.75% of the world. That's crazy! For me it feels like I have visited lots of places, but when you think of it as only 2,75% of the world, it seems so less. When you take a look at my travel map, you can also see that i have mostly visited Europe and only two countries in Asia, but not in the rest of the world. I really want to visit all 7 continents, thats for sure!
With my new study, International Lifestyle studies, I hope to see more places than I already did. Of course we have an internship and minor that we can do abroad, and I'm definitely planning on doing that. Sometimes I'm already daydreaming about where I want to go, or how it would be. I really want to go to Australia, maybe not for school, but I'm sure as hell going there.
