Floating Food
Food that is floating, have you ever see something like that? Well I don't. But now a days everything is possible, so if you want floating food, you get floating food.
WHAT
Where you have to go to see that is restaurant Monarh in Tilburg. Monarh is the first restaurant ever that is levitating its food. You can find restaurant Monarh in the basement of a monastery, which is 120 years old. Restaurant owner Danny Kovacevic is interested in physical techniques.
From february they are serving amuses with the special Quantum levitation technique. With a strong magnet it's possible to let the amuses float. Restaurant Monarh has a special menu called; 'Menu du Monarh'. In this eight-course dinner you get to see different unique table preparations. Eventually Monarh wants to build the strong magnets into the tables, so they can levitate bigger proportions of food.
WHY
With this restaurant there is a new beginning of things that are floating. There are always new innovations coming and there is more possible now a days. Floating food is something we might never imagine, but here it is. The experience is very important, and so this fits the experience economy. It's all about the floating food & the beautiful location that make this such an experience for the visitor. The taste of the food doesn't even matter, as long as it's floating, that's what makes it cool. "Going out to eat is, after all, not just for food. However, the base of the food must be natural" (Paul Kappé, 2016).
And so whats next, floating people?
