No Gender in commercials

In an earlier blogpost I already wrote about the gender norms and being a queer. It’s becoming more normal that there are people who don’t feel like putting a gender tag on. The gender norms are fading and that’s the way how it should.

Now there are fashion brands who also be a part of the no gender movement. For example Louis Vuitton with their new Spring/Summer campaign. They hired Jaden Smith to show the new women collection. Yes, you read it well, women. In the campaign video you can see him with other female models. Jaden Smith is wearing skirts, just like the others. This doesn’t mean that Jaden Smith is a queer or wants to be a women, but he shows that he goes against the gender norms and respects the no genders. This isn’t the first time Jaden smith wears women clothes. He wore a dress to prom with Amandla Stenberg. Louis Vuitton wanted to reach to the younger generation of fashion lovers. The generation who is more open about the no gender ideas.

Not only Louis Vuitton kicks uses a gender neutral campaign, but also Marc Jacobs has one with the model Lana Wachowski who is also a director. Lana Wachowski is a transgender since 2000. But in 2012 she began with spreading her words about gender norms. Marc Jacobs often uses big names for his campaigns, but he made a statement with this one. It’s a step in the right direction so gender norms can be more normal in the society.
